DL 414 Rough Landing at PDL

https://onemileatatime.com/rough-lan...%20Delta%20757

Flying this flight tomorrow night... Looks like another 752 bites the dust 😢😢

Been to PDL before- the winds can get quite gusty.

That's a shame, it'll probably be turned into beer cans like the United 757 at EWR two months ago.

Yikes. That damage looks pretty rough.

rescue flight enroute from ATL. That would be a neat line!

DL is trying again with a 752.

I'm waiting for the customary "too bad it wasn't a CRJ-200" posts to appear.

Well, Boeing should be delivering NMA/797s "soon" so no big loss.

I'm in PDL at the moment, although not flying Delta.

Only moderate winds this morning, and a few clouds around. Since then the weather has deteriorated with persistent heavy rain and dense low clouds. The rescue flight could have an "interesting" landing tonight.

Per Flightradar24, the aircraft is N543US (Ship #5643 ), a 75H.

A bit terrifying to think the damage that was caused. Any word on what happened? Love that DL was able to send a rescue jet to the scene though. I wouldn't have expected that tbh.

I could think of far worse places to be stranded than Sao Miguel. If this bird has to be scrapped, at least it picked a great spot to retire to...

Sniff. I hope it's not RIP as I love the 757 birds.

At least it wasn't a 75S.

Keeping my fingers crossed that a 75s will be subbed in tomorrow night.
