VS Heathrow Clubhouse Question

Have an SFO-LHR RT coming up on VS, and will be Platinum when I land at LHR on the outbound. I'd like to use the VS Clubhouse on my return but it's 4 days later and the MQMs from the outbound trip might not have posted then. What's the best way to let VS know I'm PM so I can access the Clubhouse?

I'm in Premium, not Upper Class, so won't get it from my ticket

I'm confused. What is your status now? DM? PM? Or GM hoping to soon become PM? And when is the flight?

If you're currently DM or PM, it would normally expire (assuming not some status challenge/promo) at the end of January, so if you're traveling soon, no problem to use the lounge before your departure from LHR (on the return portion of your RT).

Otherwise, I don't think the odds are good that your miles will post from a partner flight and DL will upgrade your status in just a couple days and I wouldn't expect a partner lounge dragon to know enough about the rules to look at the number of MQMs (and don't forget MQDs) in your account if it doesn't show you as PM and give you the electronic card.

I routinely do SEA - LHR on VS and I wouldnít count on your miles to post that quickly. They might but donít count on it. It usually feels like closer to 5 days before I get credit from VS.

You're not PM based on when you fly. As was asked and pointed out in very same situation just a few threads down.

Sub PM for GM.

You new status only applies once it has been reflected in DLs systems / phone app etc not when you have landed from the flight that earned you the mqms.

And that also depends on how soon VS communicates that you flew to DLs system.

Until that happens telling VS anything is not going to help other than gain you some puzzled looks.

This is pretty standards across many frequent flyer programmes.

With BA for example tier points usually post 2 days after the flight and if that earns you a status level then that takes another day or two to update and filter down through the systems.

Around the time of the merger, DL was reportedly running status sweeps and only doing updates once a week. It's at least an improvement that status is recognized the day after the miles post.

If anyone could just talk their way in, they'd no longer be Virgin.

Amex Plat card would provide access IIRC.

AMEX doesn't provide VS Clubhouse access.

No you wonít. Youíll come off on the losing side.

if you donít have the status showing on your boarding pass or app then you arenít getting in.

Enjoy your walk of shame back down the stairs to main departures as you head to the number 1 lounge where your gold DL status will get you access with no argument at all.
