BOS Ramp backup after thunderstorm?

About to start hour 3 waiting on the tarmac for a gate in BOS. Seems crazy that no planes are moving. Any idea what's causing this?

This is almost ORD level backup after a thunderstorm!

My former boss is in BOS (leaves tomorrow) and texted me this:

A microburst ripped through late afternoon with 75 mph winds at Logan, really screwed up today's flights!

After the ground stop, they had to go out and check the runway and taxiways for debris.
Saw this on Twitter.... Hurricane force wind gusts:

Above is the METAR for Logan at 354pm local time. For those who don't speak Aviation Weatherese, it say the winds were out of the southwest at 43 knots with gusts to 64kts (that's about 50 to 75 mph). A Category 1 hurricane is right at 64kts, though that's sustained winds, not just gusts. Either way, that would have been a very 'sporty' approach. The other METARs show that those high winds were present for about 45 minutes from 330 to a little after 400pm

GSO ended up being 2 hours on the tarmac until the lightning stopped; just got an e-mail from Delta apologizing and 5,000 bonus miles

I got diverted to BNA 2 weeks ago, sat on their tarmac for 3.5 hours and ultimately got home 7 hours late (PBI) due to Tstorms in ATL and got zilch. Guess you’re lucky.
