Delta's L-1011 prior to retirement

Some personal photos from the last First Class cabin interior aboard a Delta L-1011 after flying it SEA > SLC June, 2001.
Always hoped to see the Tri-Star in the Delta wave livery...a drawing of which appeared on fleet page within Sky Magazine:

Thank you for sharing! Love the photos and to see a glimpse of the past, almost 20 years ago! Nevermind the math just made me feel old. Now I consider these photos a neutral experience.

That's a lot of F on a domestic route!

Those must be newer overhead bins. The original ones were very narrow.

I used to fly the DL L1011 from the US to Frankfurt. IIRC this would have been departing from JFK and CVG. This was back in the 1990's when Delta had a hub at Frankfurt.

Agreed. It was fun working them at ATL Tower as, just like the F-4, you could see their smoke trail from miles away so you always knew where they were.

Great jumpseat riding aircraft as well

Yep DL even had IAD-FRA and LGW-DTW which I flew on these beauties.

Met President Carter on one of these beauties going from ATL to LAX. The pics brought back fond memories ... thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing. I always enjoyed flying on the L1011, seemed to get on one usually from SLC to CVG.

Does anyone remember the seat layout in Y on the L-1011? I vaguely remember my very first flight being in a widebody with a 5-across section in the middle. Was wondering if it was an L1011. Route would have been SLC-LAX sometime in the early 90s.

Might still be in service on the MD-88 and MD-90's.

When introduced in the early-mid 70ís, the Y configuration was 2-4-2, and then tightened to 2-5-2 in the early 80ís, where it remained until it left the fleet post 9/11.
