Sorry about father in law. Weather is the issue. BTW there's no such thing as a bereavement fare anymore. At most they give a discount off a current fare.

Hi Folks,
As a few users have pointed out, over the past week there have been 4 new threads and many opening of old threads related to the excessive hold times due to the recent weather. We have now created a consolidated thread to discuss/track this, and we will merge here as needed.

Thanks,

Pennsylvania has had severe thunderstorms since Sunday, and I would guess Maryland, Washington, and New York experienced similar weather. Sorry about your father-in-law.

Average has to be way higher than $75k. That's close to the floor.

A bereavement fare is 10% off, or $400 for main cabin each way (continental US), whichever is lower. Different markets and cabins have different fare ceilings. Sometimes itís a good deal, but the most helpful perk imo is the fee-free changes.
