Thankfully I've got this fancy technology in my pocket that can quickly tell me the outside air temp and current RH and they built 28000 square feet of indoor seating for those days when outdoor seating is uncomfortable. At least until A-East is built, this new SkyDeck is set back from any aircraft operations and I certainly couldn't smell any jet fuel yesterday (admittedly, I spend a lot of time around helicopters so I'm not particularly sensitive to those smells).

I believe AUS has one too, but haven't had the chance to visit yet. TPG has a pic here.

Sky Deck seems to be the biggest hit! I didn't even know that was planned for the club. Any other clubs with a Sky Deck planned?

I didn't realize LAX would get a Sky Deck...would love to see one in Seattle, but I guess the weather isn't conducive to one.

The Forbes article below says Delta will get some more gates in Concourse B in October even though DL may eventually consolidate ops in A. Concourse B will have 23 gates initially and I'm guessing Alaska, American, Frontier, JetBlue, United will only need about 16 gates, hopefully leaving around 7 more for Delta/SkyWest/Aeromexico.

One more note on the new SLC: there are not any Amex credit card sales kiosks (yet.) In fact I did not see any American Express ads or any other type of airport advertising for that matter.

The first photo is the 'Canyon' which is part of the terminal. The second one is definitely the SkyClub. You're right about the carpet though, it looks familiar but I can't quite place it. Almost a bit hotel-ish.

I just counted and there are only 16 gates at SLC currently use by non-SkyTeam airlines. So Delta should be getting 7 more gates in B on October 27th. I’d estimate that means about half of CRJ/ERJ flights will go to bus boarding then.
