MSP-HND upgrade odds?

I'm thinking of booking a direct flight Minneapolis to Tokyo next May.

The Comfort+ (W) fare has a notation for Upgrade Eligibility "DL121 - MSP to HND: Upgrade Eligible to Delta One® suites".

Anyone care to comment on the odds of a mere Gold getting the upgrade?
----
Oddly enough, the more expensive Premium Select (G) fare shows no upgrade possibility.

Absolutely zero without cash or miles

Sounds like DL.com is glitching. There are no complimentary upgrades on that route, only instrument-backed, miles, cash, or in an oversold situation.

You have a chance from 0.00% to 0.00% of getting upgraded.

That notation means there is usually space available to upgrade via an instrument - GUC or miles (miles requires a qualifying fare I believe).

Thanks to all for your replies.

First chuckle of the day. I'm such a Pollyanna. I'll go find something else about which to be over-optimistic ...

I would have said 0.000000000000000000000000% to be precise, unless coach is oversold and OPUPs have already been given to DM/PM in PS, C+, and coach.

Been op-uped on this route 4-5 times. It happens, but don't count on it.

I wrote to Delta and posed my question. Their response:

"Our research indicates that only cash can be used to upgrade from Delta
Comfort+ to either Delta Premium Select or Delta One.

Once you click on
the upgrade button, you will be upgraded instantly and can then assign
your seat in the selected cabin before making payments
. "

Sigh. Seemed like such a nice possibility. I'll take FireEmblemPride's wise advice and not count on it.

Only as an OPUP, which doesn't seem to be what the OP means.
