D1-D1-D1-Comfort / last segment consequences?

MIA-ATL-BCN-ATL-MIA;
(2) 128K "Delta One" award seats reserved;
later discovered ATL-MIA are Comfort, not D1;
phone rep said ALL D1 = 540K ea, not 128K ea;
can live with that short final segment Comfort, but...
does BCN-ATL D1 give us ATL busn lounge access?
if we only show our BCN-ATL tickets, our ATL-MIA
Comfort award seats will appear at lounge entry...?
(do not hold any Delta cc's currently)
what are luggage handling differences Comfort vs. D1?
(in ATL we will be "internationally processed" & then
have to recheck luggage...?) is Comfort check-in
luggage more restrictive? Thanks in advance.

Connecting from/to a D1 flight grants access so you should have no problem getting in to a Sky Club in ATL.

Luggage will be checked through; once you clear customs etc it's more of just a drop-off than formally checking the bag again.

You should have lounge access in ATL after arriving from BCN. Your case is little different than if you were connecting to a flight that didn’t have F (a 50 seat CRJ).

Your full itinerary for the day should pull up when the agent scans your BP at a SkyClub in ATL after arriving from BCN but I would keep a copy of the paper or electronic boarding pass for BCN-ATL in D1 just in case you get an agent who isn’t seeing the BCN-ATL leg and tries to push back.
