T2 jfk TSA PRE-CHECK closed at 7 pm on 6/12

I was flying DL JFK to CPH even though intl it departed from T2. The nice think about T2 is its size, not much walking, but if they close PC so early negates some of the pluses of T2.
In such situations having CLEAR can be extra nice.

I got duped into Clear minus PreCheck at T4 recently.
I would choose PreCheck >>> Clear 100 times out of 100.

Having BOTH.covers all bases; if PC lines are long you get to jump the queue via CLEAR.

I have both. Not every part of every checkpoint has both however.

This week I learned that T4 Clear and Pre close at 8:30. You get Pre light but if you haven't packed electronics in preparation for it, it's a PITA.
I had a 1:55 AM departure and another one next week. I'll suffer the lack of services rather than wait 3-4 extra hours, especially with the SkyClub closing before midnight.

The T2 precheck is always closed and it pisses me off now.

I use to go to T2 check in and take the jitney to t4 but nooo they never seem to open T2

I've been there at 10am
I've been there at noon
I've been there at 5pm
I've been there at midnight

I just go staright to t4 now. Precheck always open even when I need to fly out of t2.

Same. I can hardly remember the last time I saw Pre open at T2.

Was this a delayed flight? If DL schedules major services from JFK at this hour, they need to make arrangements with TSA and with their own lounges for such passengers.

It’s probably a partner flight to Asia.

OK, but my experience at any checkpoint that has CLEAR is that once they verify you they escort you to the front of the Pre line (which I feel slightly bad about at e.g. SJC terminal A because the Pre line is all the way across the setup from the Pre side and they have to undo like 4-5 tensa-barriers but I'm not the one who laid it out...)

If Pre was open and they didn't do this for you, complain to CLEAR.

If Pre wasn't open at that checkpoint at all, the you wouldn't have had it either way.

Unless JFK T4 is one of those places that has a dedicated lane for people who have both (I forget if it is -- this seems like something we should collect in a wiki somewhere)* and you mean that you inadvertently got in the CLEAR-without-Pre lane when there was a CLEAR-with-Pre available? (Although in those cases where I've been about to do the same thing they've usually redirected me to the other one.)

*EDIT: Clear appears to make this distinction on their web site, eg. DTW:

https://www.clearme.com/where-we-are/dtw

"CLEAR Lane and Enrollment for Precheck-eligible travelers"

vs. at other locations, merely "CLEAR Lane and Enrollment"

JFK T4 indeed has a "CLEAR Lane for Precheck-eligible travelers" with hours listed as 4a-8:30pm, and "CLEAR Lane for standard security" 24 hours.

It's a scheduled daily AM 401 JFK-MEX which is also a DL Codeshare. DL handles the flight including check-in via a separate PNR. TSA is open but Pre is not. The Sky Club is scheduled to close at midnight but actually closes at 11:45. Most food and adult beverage locations are closed so you're stuck at the gate for about an hour and a half before boarding.

Assuming AM cares at all, I'm curious if they're aware DL is kicking their passengers out and not providing lounge service.

I'm sure that they're aware. I'm not defending or criticizing AM or DL for their decision to close after the last DL flight at 11:30 PM. The Club is almost deserted at that hour, probably more employees than passengers. The cost of keeping the Club open for an additional hour probably far exceeds the benefit to AM and I'm certain that DL would charge them if the only reason for staying open is this flight.

I would bet the contract says a lounge is too be provided and nobody realizes or cares.

I would assume that DL keeps the SC open late when a DL operated flight is badly delayed, so it might not cost that much more to keep it open every day for this partner flight, with AM paying of course.
