Upgrade codeshare flight
 
I was using some credit card rewards points to book a flight YYZ-JFK in January; it booked on Delta using a Westjet Codeshare. Am I correct in assuming that since I don't see it in manage my booking on delta.com I can't pay to upgrade this to first until time of check in (if available?) Put another way if I call Delta and put up with the wait is there a way to pay the upgrade if speaking to an agent?

Unless you have Gold or Platinum status with WestJet, the only way to get a premium upgrade is through online check-in 24hrs prior to departure.

YYZ>JFK is DL metal. YYZ>LGA is Westjet metal. If you booked your ticket with DL and have a 006 ticket number then it should be like any other DL flight. If you paid Westjet and have a Westjet ticket then no upgrades until T-24.

You can add your DL# and it'll show. Regardless, you cant upgrade outside of T-24 when flight is sold as a codeshare.

OK thanks all - we'll give it a try at T-24. It's only an hour flight but it's the start of YYZ-JFK-ZRH-IST-SIN-SYD the remainder of which is in business so my OCD wishes the start of it to be in J :) Thanks for confirming. I did add the flight on delta.com - I see it now and it let me choose a seat but not upgrade.
