Snack Basket Losing Variety?
I know this is a first-world problem because I arrive delay-free 85% of the time in 2019 so far. But, I mostly fly to/from ATL and have noticed for a couple of months that the variety in the snack basket seems to have been reduced to the
Even the bananas are no longer a staple of the snack baskets. Hit or Miss.
Seems like DL has a history of cycling from adventurous local brands and unique items to bland stuff, and the cycle seems to swinging back to bland again IMO.
Is it any better on other routes? Are some of the local/regional items still in the baskets on the BOS, DTW, and MSP flights?
- Wheat Cheese-It's
- Thin Oreos
- Kind granola bar (Square shape with red trim)
- Almonds
- And of course, the Biscoff cookies

I have been seated in domestic F 6 times over the past 2 weeks. The snack basket no longer has any oreos or cookies or those delicious french cookies other than Biscoff. Very disappointing recently!

I was in C+ for 40% of those flights.
Same experience regardless.
I would hope they don't downgrade the snack basket on longer flights because F has a meal. That does not give added value to C+ which they want people to pay for.

ATL mainline flights about half of which had meal service. Those were the ones to/from LAX/SFO

Two flights today: MKE-MSP and MSP-SMF (Sacramento).
MSP-SMF was a meal flight in F, and after the meal the FA came around w/ basket ("would you like a snack to go?")
Both flights were the same snack basket:
- Bananas
- Potato Chips
- Cheez-It (I actually just looked up the spelling - I thought it was either 'Cheez-Its' or 'Cheez-Itz')
- Thin Oreos
- Biscoffs
- Almonds
- Those chocolate-covered berry things
- Kind Bars
That being said I have noticed differences in the last month.
- Less than 250 miles only 4 choices up front (sometimes two)
- None of those French cookie/chocolate things in a while
Ok, if I only get 4 choices, my 'ideal' basket is (afternoon/evening):
- Salted peanuts
- Sea salt chocolates (Sanders?)
- Dang, I guess I actually like the Cheez-Itz
- Potato chips
Morning 4:
- Bananas
- Kind bars
- The breakfast oatmeal/raisin thing they used to have (maybe still do?)
- Any others from my evening list

I was just joking - referring to the fact that DL probably loses money in BOS. Can’t imagine them printing cash on something like BOS-ORD, for example.

I’ve noticed this, too. To be fair I’ve only been loyal to DL for a few years, but the variety in the F baskets seems to be at an all time low, and the options are all sorta “blah”.
There used to be many more options, some of which I actually looked forward to when flying.
long-time DL folks: has variety swung in both directions recently (as I’d argue the appeal of the food has), or has the number of options steadily declined?
