Replacing my damaged DL 1MM luggage

My 1MM gift from DL (back in 2008), was a Hartmann black cordura roll-a-board.. Which has recently had some damage courtesy of the Dulles baggage carousel. I'm looking to buy a replacement bag.

I really liked the bag, but can't remember the exact name. It had 4 spinner wheels, black, 2 outside pockets, extendable telescoping handle. I believe the Hartmann branded bag also had the word spinner in its name.

Any ideas guys? Thanks..

I had the same bag and replaced it a couple of months ago with my 2MM gift of the newer version DL offers. I like it a lot, the rollers are so much smoother. I can push it down the hall with one finger. :O

If OP filed a damage claim, I would guess he gets $100

WHat's the depreciated value of a 10-year-old bag used by a million+ miler? $5?

it's been suggested elsewhere that I send the bag to DL, but for me time/money wise it seems just as easy to buy a new one.
I suppose I could call DL on the phone and inquire.. No harm in trying

Call DL with the claim number they gave you at IAD for the damage report. More often than not, they will simply tell you to keep the old bag or toss it as you wish and then send you a new one if the model is available.

Delta was very generous with me when they thoroughly wrecked what must have been a 20 year old Tumi at SJU. They didn't have a comparable bag on hand to trade me, so they recommended that I file a claim. But since my gear was in danger of falling out of the hole from the missing wheel assembly, they still gave me the closest replacement bag they had. I filed the claim and they gave me $400 for the 20 year old Tumi roll aboard.
