Hi all,

I have used ITA Matrix for all my travel for many years now, but I want to go one-step deeper and I can't figure it out. I'm pasting my itin below, gracious for your help in advance.

LAX-MAD RT and ITA is routing me through SFO, AMS. But i want to route through JFK. I want LAX-JFK-MAD, then MAD-JFK-LAX.

If I price out LAX-JFK-MAD via multi-city, it prices out at $12k. If I price out LAX-JFK, then JFK-MAD it prices out at around $1k. Can I "nest" in ITA Matrix or no?

Any tips or tricks much appreciated.

Why not just use Delta.com ? It gives you the JFK options right there

LAX-MAD RT with routing codes outbound and return JFK. Comes in $888 on AA

You do a regular R/T LAX-MAD search but in the Routing Code under Advance Controls you put JFK on whichever leg you want connection in JFK

Looks like your itin didn't get pasted. You can also specify connecting cities in Google Flights.

Perfect, thank you. I’m hoping to trick this fare, especially with AA running LAX-MAD cheap fares.

Yes.

X:JFK in the outbound/return routing code boxes will do the trick.

You can even save two strokes, the X :is implied if you type in an airport code.
