I had the same question the first time I paid for a First Class ticket. The quick answer was somewhere above. If you can wear this in public and not be arrested for public indecency and ALSO not be stopped by TSA for something that violates their rules, then you're good to go. Have a safe flight!

If you're travelling standby there's a code.

If you're paid...lol. If you're reasonably dressed for public consumption, you're fine.

Shirts are frowned? Accordingly to who?

Men over the age of 12 should not expose leg skin. Period. Just like in school.

Can I guess that you also wear shirts without a collar outside of the gym?

Yawn. I actually only fly in collared shirts. But go ahead make everyone adhere to your selfish standards.

That's a relief! I did see someone in a t-shirt (with a frayed bottom) on a flight last week. Unbelievable. He looked like he had just rolled out of bed. Even the crew frowned at that one.

Lots of people have had some fun mocking the OP's question but the thread is taking a turn away from the playful. You are reminded of FlyerTalk rule #12 , an extract below:

Please post in a friendly, respectful, welcoming manner. 'Snarky,' unfriendly posts will not be allowed. If you don't have something constructive to contribute to a thread, please do not post.

Even if they are shaved and shiny?
I have seen plenty of those only to be disappointed when gazed up to see who they belonged to
