Delta charged me twice, both in miles and in money?

I booked two tickets on delta website using miles four days ago, the cost for each ticket is 33000 miles plus a small fee. After booking I saw 66000 miles being deducted from my account instantly. However, today I saw my credit card being charged for $480 twice by delta, which is approximately the price of the ticket. The charge doesn’t appear to be pending anymore. should I contact bank or delta at this point? On my delta app I looked upon the tickets’ receipt and it clearly showed the cost was from mile redemption.

Contact Delta to find out the reason for the charge. If they agree it's an error, watch for the reversal/credit to your account. Don't let them delay beyond your closing date.
Of course, that charge may have a valid reason.
If you can get no joy from Delta, file a dispute with your card and let them sort it out.

Are you sure the $480 isn’t for taxes or buying some miles to get you up to the 66,000??

It would help to know the route and the operating carriers for the OP's award tickets. Otherwise we can only guess whether the amount charged could be taxes and fees.

OTOH, if OP has the emailed ticket receipt(s), looking at that carefully might solve the problem. Also, if DL charged in both money and miles, there might well be duplicate reservations and more importantly duplicate tickets with duplicate receipts. Almost all award tickets carry at least a small charge in money, so the OP should check whether DL has charged a small amount and a large amount to the credit card, as this would also indicate that the flights were ticketed both for being paid in miles (award tickets) and paid in money. I would assume that it would be difficult for an error to occur that would mean that the OP has paid for the same tickets in both money and miles, although of course some "pay with miles" tickets could look this way if one weren't paying attention when selecting how many miles to apply toward the fare.
