how to book sky team flights on Delta.com
I was trying to book a multi-city booking . MSP (via DTW)-PVG; PVG-TYO(HND orNRT); HND-MSP. The problem is that Delta has done away with the PVG-NRT flight. But there are many China eastern flights showing up on Skyteam web site. But when I do this booking on Delta it does not show me any flights between PVG-HND or PVG-NRT. I am thus unable to make my trip booking on Delta web site. Is there a work around or do I have to use a travel agent or a phone booking for this multi city booking on Delta/Sky team for PVG-HND?
thanks much.

Many people are able to use Book With matrix or other clever tools to force delta.com to show certain itineraries. Give that a look.

They can be booked on delta.com when you use third parties like Book with Matrix to bring up the flights on delta.com via the API interface.

Have you tried finding the desired itinerary using ITA matrix then feeding it to bookwithmatrix? I’m often able to purchase unusual routings on delta.com via bookwithmatrix.

Thanks for the responses guys. Appreciate it. I will look up the Matrix App which I have never heard of. But for this trip I will call in using my Platinum booking line. I wished Delta would allow Skyteam flights within a multi city trip to show up on Delta.com, especially when it does not fly between those cities. I would hope all Skyteam partners would do that to help their customers fly with them and their alliance partners.

Because I had a similar issue last summer on an itinerary that I had called and booked in 2017. But when I tried it in 2018, I was informed they can only see what I can see on DL.com.
Strange, I even wrote them and got a nice response from the executive office and they said the same thing.
I didn't know about Matrix at the time, but do look at it occasionally now, but haven't needed it.

This is to close the loop and also thank everyone for helping me find a great new way to make fight bookings that also involve non Delta code shared flights on Delta.com web site! Very cool
I could not do the booking on the phone for the PVG-TYO. So I thought it is time for me to try out the Matrix thing. Here is a summary:
Method 1 - install a chrome extension called Bookinmatrix. This is the easiest way to do it.
After I installed the extension. I went to the below web site:
https://matrix.itasoftware.com/
Then I made my itinerary and once the choices came up, chose Delta only. Out of the various combinations I picked on route and then clicked on the Chrome extension. It took me to the bookwith matrix website with my chosen itinerary.
There was a dropdown box book with.... and 3 choices. One of them was Delta. I chose that and a new window opened up in Delta. I logged in and completed my booking.
If you choose not to install the chrome extension, just copy the itinerary and paste in the website:
https://bookwithmatrix.com/
Both lead to same results. I preferred the chrome extension route.
Only minor inconvenience. Delta did not allow me to pick my seats and said I need to wait 24 hours. I am not sure if this is because I came through the external web site or just a new policy from Delta.
Anyway thanks everyone.

Just to add on, a few months back I tried to book a mixed cabin itinerary that I had created on Matrix, it was a four-leg multi city itinerary on AF/KLM (no DL codeshare on any of the legs), and Delta.com was able to generate the itinerary using Matrix Power Tools (someone linked above), but not in the correct booking class. When I called the DL GM line, they were able to book the itinerary even though there were no DL flights involved, it seems that the DL GM line can book AF/KL flights as well.
