On a Hawaiian flight from JFK-HNL I was in Row 11 right behind first and during the whole flight a first class passenger kept coming back to use the economy bathroom. He was the only one so I doubt the lav in first was out of order. No one said anything but you can be sure if I tried using the lav in first I’d been escorted right back to my seat.

In D1 on an ATL>AMS flight. After boarding had completed and announcements began, the lead FA made the statement that pax in Y we’re not permitted to use the D1 lavs to “preserve the integrity of the Delta One Cabin.”

While we were in D1 I couldn’t help but cringe a little at what seemed like such an overt elitist statement.

Good on Delta. I can't stand the urine covered floors on most North American airline's aircraft. It is particularly bad in the economy cabin. People just pee wherever they want; on the toilet itself, the floor, the walls, wherever. Others leave the lavs a mess. The business class lavs are cleaner on the aircraft where the cabin lav access is restricted.
Appreciably some people are incontinent or have bladder control issues. I suggest that they consider;
1. Incontinence garments or;
2. Using the washroom prior to departure or;
3. Not consuming alcohol and/or caffeine infused beverages or;
4. Kegel exercise.

And to be blunt, I don't want people lining up next to my seat. On some transcontinental flights when I am in a row near the lav, it is irritating to have some of the slobs lining up, grabbing on to my seat or loudly yammering away as if my personal space doesn't matter.
I had one rotund women stand next to my seat who let loose an unending stream of toxic flatulence. On another flight I had a guy who kept belching a gag inducing awful stench. I feel for the folks who are seated close to the lav because they have to deal with inconsiderate jerks. In an ideal world, the lav lice would be banished to Spirit and Frontier. It's not fair to the folks who are paying a premium fare to have the lav line next to them. Mind you, it's not fair either for the comfort plus pax to be denied access to the forward lavs. They can't easily access the lavs in the back of the bus. Give them the access up front.

I find it incredibly annoying when people in Y come forward and use the F toilets. Again, considering that we pay for a different experience (in dollars, miles, or loyalty), I think it reasonable to think that the lav be reserved for us. And when I'm Y (including Y+), yes, I walk all the way to the back of the bus. If the service cart is blocking the aisle, I wait.

One sign of a sexually transmitted disease is spraying urine when peeing. No joke.

The airlines have brought this on themselves by not having a lav between Y and F. IMO there should be one on every mainline sized a/c. There's always going to be carts in the aisle, and this is always going to be an issue. This is one reason that I love 757's.

What you find on the floor of the lavs is not urine 99% of the time. It’s water splashed out of the miniature sinks. If you use one to wash your hands it becomes pretty clear what happens.

What about the 1%? That would still worry me. Or maybe the liquids mix together, or new water is mixed with old dry urine?

Irrelevant. The intention is for the passenger with the ticket to receive a premium experience - and in many cases, thetc passenger decides where to direct the spend

I'm confused. You claim to be paying a premium fare yet find yourself seated next to the lavatories? Sounds like you're flying economy to me.

I am more elite than you ....So now we are going to have use of the lav based on what elite status you are.

I guess they should put color markers on the door....you have to use the one that matches your BP, or something...

Isn't DL's A350 particularly miserly on bathrooms? I believe the back galley area has NONE.

The penalties are really severe.

For a first offense, they give you a free ticket on a CRJ. For the second offense, they give you two free tickets on a CRJ.
