I sorta doubt there was much (or any) premium. Probably some other airline wanted to slow down its deliveries and the slots were available. DL recently slowed its A350 deliveries (and I'm guessing some other airline was happy to take the slots).

And as for keepin the 763s for peak times, that's sorta what I said. I said DL might park them (doesn't necessarily mean retire them)

Im flying 1J on an A339 in just a few hours PVG-SEA, mileage upgrade in K confirmed at the time of booking, and specifically chose the PEK-PVG connection to check out the new bird and this suite configuration. The A/J in J differs from the A350 in that the bed is on the aisle side on the 339 versus window side on the 350.... but its all the choice I had and I am not looking a gift horse in the mouth. I figure the door will make things better anyway.

FWIW- K is 75K miles, a steep upgrade price, but I prefer to save GUCs for ASL clearance needs and have many more needs/opportunities this year. And upgrades are all I use miles for between VS, DL, KL, so Im fine with it.

Delta is changing the A339 start date service on the SEA-ICN route to 9-16-2019 (previous start date was 10-1-2019). N403DX was delivered before the end of August, might as well put it into service making big bucks.......another B763 that can be moved to another route or ????.

SEA-ICN must be theongest route for a DL 763. I'm surprised it wasn't moved to a 330 sooner. An upgrade for J passengers but downgrade for coach passengers.

SEA-ICN is about 5200 miles and SEA-PVG is 5700 miles, which was converted from a B763 to A339 a few months ago (which was the longest Delta B763 flight they have) Delta has a few B763 aircraft that have a range of around 6600 miles.

Nonsense. Perhaps a downgrade for the 1 extra middle seat passenger per row. But a clear upgrade for the 7 other seats in each row. And a huge upgrade for J, from the worst product in the fleet to possibly the best.

Yes, I think those have the internal designation as 76T? I believe they have a nicer crew rest area since they were used on the longer flights.

Looks like the 76Ts are headed to HI and will be used for SEA-KIX as well (rotating through HNL). 76Ts are still fairly new, but they could use a cabin refresh.

Still can't believe they decided to fly SEA-KIX instead of SEA-TPE after ditching HKG.

No competition on Osaka, while EVA flies to Taipei already.

The 330neo has its merits in Y; at least it still has plenty of 2-seat sections. It also brings Premium Select in addition to Comfort+, which is an option Im really excited about taking advantage of.

Is it safe to assume the ICN-MNL route will be operated by an A339 instead of an A350?

From the last DL schedule update, it will be done using the A330-900neos.

Yes, they are the newest of what Delta has (6 of them - built in 2000-2001 time frame). They have GE engines and a range of around 6600 miles. Tail numbers are: N1607B, N1608, N1609, N1610D, N1611B, and N1612T.

There is N1613B as well, which is the newest of the bunch and is used interchangeably with the ones quoted above.

Not sure if this is the right thread, but trying to get info regarding an upcoming A339 trip in DL Premium Economy. We're flying SEA-HKT on 10/22 and then returning HKT-SEA on 10/29, with both connections being via ICN. Both directions of the ICN leg will be in PE and my reservation still indicates as much. However, the plane type in "My Trips" in the DL app now simply says "Airbus A330", as opposed to the "Airbus A330-900neo" that was previously displayed. Our seats are still in the 1st row of PE on the bulkhead and have not changed, however the change in terminology has me concerned about an equipment swap and our subsequent options. Is this just a glitch in the app, or is an equipment change likely? I just read that DL is moving the introduction date of the 339 on this route up a couple of weeks, so that shouldn't be a problem by late October. I don't think any of DL's other A330's are yet equipped with PE, and flying 11-12 hours in C+ doesn't exactly sound pleasant. Should I check with DL a week or two before departure?
