I have a pic I took on June 16th in ATL that has the A330NEO in hangar with big letter balloons on it's right wing that say's "1st A330 NEO" but the picture is to blurry to post as we were taxiing like a bat out of hell and it barely caught it.

Ship number N401DZ (A330-900NEO) spreads its wings for the first DL flight tomorrow (July 10) - will be on its way to PVG from SEA (evidently, Delta wanted the "new plane service" to start ahead of its previously stated start date of 7-15).

Unhappy A330-900neo launching early on July 10th...

See the TPG's latest on the Delta A330-900neo start of service (I can't post the link because I'm a long-time lurker and haven't posted at least 5 times).

So, umm, I'm happy for Delta that they can start flying the A339 sooner, but I'm incredibly bummed that they've moved this flight up. I originally booked D1 for the July 1 inaugural, then had to get all of my plans changed due to the shift to July 15. Now they're launching 5 days early. This is absolutely First World problems, but I can't help but be a little ticked off... Hopefully they'll have some festivities still on July 15th. (Again, I know that there are far greater problems in the world than this... Still inaugural flights events that some of us AvGeeks live for!)

Was anyone else planning to go on the inaugural on the 15th?

SEA-PVG is the first route. SEA-ICN follows later, with SEA-NRT joining it by the end of the year as the first trio.

Soooooo happy to hear the news. I’m on the July 11 PVG- SEA flight. I was expecting a A330 flight before, but disappointed by the delay.
‘When I checked in like 2 hours ago, I notice on the seat map it was showing A330neo.
so glad to fly a new aircraft.

Yes, Delta has confirmed the shift. Since OP cant post the link, here it is: https://thepointsguy.com/news/deltas...service-early/

from that article:
The decision was made because our new A330-900neos are ready for revenue service and this frees up additional widebody aircraft availability to reinforce our busy summer operation, Morgan Durrant, a Delta spokesman, said in an email. He added that the planes would continue serving the route going forward.

And we still haven't seen the interior? I'm curious how much more narrow the D1 Suites are since the A330neo is much narrower than the A350 and 777.

Call and see if they will put you back on it. They probably will if you explain the situation.

The aisle sure does look narrow! I am surprised to see how poorly this seems to be selling. At least for my date of travel my family and I are the only ones in D one way still.
