Flight #195 Delayed Because Water Tank Empty

So this particular plane landed in ATL at 6:08am this morning from JNB. They had over 12 hours to fill the water tank(s) before the plane departed to LAX. I am still sitting on the ground in ATL. 35 minutes delayed and counting.

Was this a logistic dropping of the ball by DELTA?

Alternative response could be: I'm so grateful that there are multiple checks in place for critical systems so that we did not take off on a 16 hour flight with no water--way to go Delta!"

I would be more worried about a ‘16 hour flight’ from ATL to LAX

Stuff happens. It is why there are double and triple checks. It really does not matter whether it is 60 minutes or 16 hours, it is simply a logistical failure. When whoever it is who checks the water level found the potable tank empty, that was it.

And hopefully whoever was supposed to have refilled the potable water was reprimanded! No excuse to have failed to do his/her job!

Water is a mission critical item. Those hamsters on treadwheels that make the engines go round need to drink.
