Quick update: DTW - YYZ and YYZ - DTW both cleared to F at the window.
This puts me at 2/2 RUC and 6/7 non-RUC F upgrades for the year.

Booked roughly 48 hrs prior to departure. K Fare
SRQ- ATL - C+ at the gate #12 for 2 seats for first
ATL- SNA - #5 for 6 seats in first, got the gate upgrade.
SNA-ATL- #9 for 0 seats, C+ at the gate
ATL-SRQ- C+ at booking #17 for first
Crazy when its easier to get the first class upgrade on a California route than it is to SRQ.

My first DL flight of the year was this morning, DFW-LAX 7am.
Bad news: 4th of 14 for 2, Plat, no reserve card, really cheap fare class. Not a surprise, buying up to F would have been only $100 more at ticketing.
Good news: Had 10C on the 319 and they never put anybody in 10D/E so I was able to move to 10D and let the guy in 10B take 10C. I'd actually rather have half of a row 10 triple than a 319 F seat, especially row 1 or a window. And at breakfast I'm probably not going to eat the F meal anyway.

So ironically after 2/1 where the "thinning of medallions" is supposed to happen has had the opposite effect for me.
I was 50 % successful in upgrades in January and so far this month I am 0% successful. (including one flight this month with the dreaded number 1 for 0 seats)

First paid trip of the year this week...
SMF-LAX upgrade to F at window
LAX-TUS upgrade to F at T24
SMF-LAX initially delayed two hours then canceled, they rerouted me via SLC getting in about 6 hours later than originally planned, in main cabin of course.
I ended up canceling the ticket for a refund and bought a walk up on AA also in coach but got in about 20 minutes later than my originally scheduled DL flights.
Hopefully my luck is a bit better next week.

LGA to ORD tomorrow, cleared to C+ at 24 hours, currently 1 of 2 on the upgrade list for F with 1 seat left. Not sure it matters as C+ looks pretty empty on this flight

I still don't consider C+ to be an "upgrade" regardless of what their marketing folks push. Either way, the F upgrade would be significant on this route because it likely comes with a meal. Good luck!

I got upgraded while still a DM on a CHO-ATL-IAH-ATL-CHO itinerary, the last two flights taking place on 2/4 (I got UGed on 1/30). I went a perfect 14 for 14 on UGs, including being able to use 2 GUCs and winning 2 gate lotteries, from 1/1/19 through 2/4/19.
I've got a VS trip in Y IAD-LHR and return next week. The next scheduled trip after that is for the NAB Convention in April, and I was able to buy the return in F for only $250 more than cheap coach (they wanted $885 more for the outbound trip in F). I got UG'd to C+ at booking DCA-DTW-LAS. With these two trips, and my 40th wedding anniversary trip to FCO in late August, I'm within 30,000 MQMs and the AMEX waiver of PM status through 1/31/22. I'll be 67 years old then, and probably done with frequent air travel by then.

2/9 DL 3471 RDU-LGA CRJ-900 V Fare: I cleared at the gate, companion did not
2/10 DL 1993 JFK-ATL 767-400 V Fare: Companion and I cleared at T-120
2/10 DL 2384 ATL-RDU 737-900 V Fare: Companion and I cleared at T-120
Now 88.89% (8/9) on the year but I have two RDU-ATL r/ts this week so that'll go down.

FO, upgraded on one of the ORD to LGA flights today
Clearly it helps when there are 14 passengers total on a flight with 12 first class seats
