Awesome 2MM experience!!
After 26 years of flying Delta I hit 2MM coming back with family over southwest Florida (LIR-ATL). Flight crew couldn’t of been nicer and even announced it upon landing. Got to meet captain and crew and nice enough to sign their flight log. Super well done Delta!! So glad my wife and daughters got to experience the superior service. Great end to a lovely Christmas Vacation!!

FWIW- I didn't get any 'special' recognition at either 1 or 2 MM. 1 MM happened with the NW and DL accounts being merged so no flight. 2 MM happened on a VN flight from HAN-LHR.
It is nice to have agents recognize and thank me for my business.

Less Than Awesome experience
Twas looking forward to breaking the 2MM threshold on todays flights. Had a terrible experience.
No recognitions by any agent or Flight crew. Delayed flights missed connections and downgraded from paid F to coach. In other words a typical irrops day.
If course if one looks hard there are some gems still left in some DL employees. A sweet FA who chatted with me stuck in coach on a totally full flight. An Afro-amer Red Coat In ATL who could multi-task amazingly between keyboards, phone and shoulder walki-talki and never lose it handling an over booked flight. I never could interrupt him to get a name to shout out but I bet some Flyertalkers have met him.
In the end of the day my account is now over the 2mm threshold but I,m left in non-mans land regarding status until Feb 2019
Can somebody interpret this in my file?
Current status: Feb 01 2018-Dec 29 2018 SILVER MEDALLION
2019 Stratus: Feb 01 2019-Jan 31 20120 GOLD MEDALLION
So what am I in the whole month of Jan 2019?
Should I expect any acknowledgements?

Your 2018 status will update tomorrow with your new GM status. It takes 24 hours for current year status updates to flow through the various Delta systems.

when FA came around for PDB I politely asked if I could ask the captain where we would be when we hit mile 933 out of the 1,580 mile flight and showed her a screen shot of my 1,999,067 MM status. She got excited and let the crew know and escorted me and wife to cockpit to chat with the captain.
Made it even more special that the captain remembered flying with my wife’s dad who was a 32yr captain with DL and flew the 75/76 series when he retired in 1997. He had advanced Parkinson’s now so it was nice to have that recognition. After talking with the head steward he remembered her dads name and said he used to fly the ATL-LHR route quite a bit with him.m back in the day.
Since i I had wife and kids with me I was worried that the flight crew would not even know about the occasion so dropping a little hint without making a big deal seemed to make it work
yesterday I did receive a nice bouquet of fresh flowers at home from the RIC Delta team with a handwritten note thanking me for my 2mm status.
Enjoyed the moment but hope I never hit 3MM as I don’t want to travel that much anymore (at least for business)!

Hmmm. I was thinking about doing the very same thing on my JFK-LAX flight next week. I will be 2MM 348 miles from LAX
And it will be on an A330 which is kinda nice.
Problem is at 350 miles out I will have to down my glass of champagne quickly.

Funny 2,000,000 miles story
Congratulations on getting to 2,000,000 BIS miles, that is a lot of time in the air.
When I hit the 2,000,000 mark I selected a nice suitcase as my gift. On one flight I was having trouble fitting it in the overhead. The flight attendant told me I would have to check it because it was too large. I told her that didn't make sense since the bag was given to me by Delta. She asked if it was because they had lost a bag before. I told her no, I received it for reaching 2,000,000 miles. She smiled and said she would make it fit.
On another note, when I hit 2,000,000 Gold Medallion was the middle tier and had some real advantages. When Delta added the Diamond level that never made any adjustments for 2,000,000 / Complimentary Annual Gold Medallion holders and let the primary benefit devalue. Really bad form Delta!!!

I am wondering if those that have had "great" MM milestone flights are self promoting the event with the agents or crews prior to and during the flights? Not trying to offend and I really don't care if you did and good for you, but all MM milestone flights should be a BIG DEAL. My 2MM flight (which was supposed to be RDU-CDG, but became BOS-RDU) was completely uneventful. I was at something like 1,999,700 at the time of the boarding and as I recall, the usual announcement was made "... thanking our Medallion Members... yada yada" with no mention of MM's on the plane. No thanking the Medallions or MMs (do they even do that on Domestic flight anymore?) The next flight, which happened to be a few days later, this time being a real 2MM, again no mention. I got the Thanks email and took the TUMI backpack. I didn't self promote... maybe that was the reason.
