Will anyone be boycotting Delta because of the questionable election of Brian Kemp?
In Georgia, the corporations -- Coke and Delta -- are really more powerful than the state itself. Given the questionable circumstances surrounding Brian Kemp's election, I'm curious if any folks on this forum will be boycotting Delta? Or boycotting travel passing through ATL?

My alternative is to fly on American, who despite being USAir in executive leadership, moved to Texas HQ from Tempe, and are trying to be an LCC. So, no I won't be leaving Delta over the political situation that I can't even say I really understand.

No. I'll continue to fly DL because they get me where they go and that will often involve connections through Atlanta and if I avoid ATL, it's only because I'm taking a routing through another hub that will get more MQMs.
Would you please share which state you live in so we can evaluate what questionable actions your state may have undertaken or any companies in your state we should avoid? Thanks.
ETA: Over/Under on when this thread gets moved to Bad Omni? I honestly thought I clicked the OMNI/PR link in my favorites instead of the DL Forum link and it was only after my initial post that I realized this was actually in the DL forum and not OMNI/PR.

Thanks for asking. Brian Kemp recently declared his victory in the election that he also oversaw as Secretary of State -- crazy in and of itself.
It's fairly obvious -- by international standards of elections -- that Brian Kemp "won" the Georgia gubernatorial race with widespread voter suppression (i.e. plugs and machines not delivered to polling places, six-hour waits, no paper trails, broken machines, etc.). His election represents a violation of the rule-of-law in the United States and is profoundly embarrassing not only for Georgia, but the nation as a whole.
Given Delta is Georgia's largest employer, a Delta boycott could lead Delta executives to push Kemp to agree to re-doing the election, given the difference in votes is about 63,000 and he is alleged to have purged well over 300,000 voters prior to the election, not to mention the other issues mentioned above. For additional context: an automatic re-do is triggered if the "winner" is below 50% and Brian Kemp is barely over 50%.
Why shouldn't we be ethical flyers and ethical miles/points wonks? This kind of electoral fraud doesn't just reflect poorly upon Georgia, but the entire United States.

Why is a thread like this even allowed?
Perhaps we should boycott Marriott because someone doesn’t like Mormons. This is stupid. Nobody —-I literally mean nobody—-comes to a travel site to have a political debate. It’s destructive of this site’s purpose (though it provides interesting insight into the mentality of the political left).
At best, the thread should be deleted. In fairness, the OP should be banned.

It's always fraud when your guy/gal doesn't win.
This should be a thread listed in "Moderators Guilty of delayed Evacuation"

Many possible political boards the OP could have spammed rather than the Delta SkyMiles board.

And who are you going to fly on? AA and WN are HQ'ed in TX, a state known for lax gun control (not that GA isn't) and also known for being less-LGBT friendly than other states. Guess you have to boycott them too. So what about UA? Well UA is HQ'ed in violence-ridden Chicago. Should we avoid UA unless they agree to pressure politicians in Chicago and Illinois to do more about violence in Chicago? Well after that, who are we going to fly? What does that leave? G4? Well, they're safety ethics are questionable as a company, regardless of where they're HQ'ed so they're out. Who does that leave after that? B6 (HQ'ed in NYC)? AS (HQ'ed in SEA)? F9 (HQ'ed in DEN)? NK (HQ'ed in FL)?
FTer @dmarge18 has it right: can all the DM's boycott DL so my spot on the UG list will improve dramatically?

I'm still confused. I don't think DL had anything to do with this. They were not a big donor to either candidate as far as I can tell.

Hi Everyone, I am locking this thread and I will offer a few reasons why. Political type discussions are typically off limits within the domain of the Delta forum as it always leads to personal attacks. We do encourage these types of discussions inside of OMNI P/R. However, when a post is created by an author with less than enough posts to participate in OMNI, it is not fair to the OP to move the thread there, and then they are no longer able to update it or see it. So in this case, we will close this post.
In the light of the recent questions regarding the fecal matter closed threads and to why it was closed, I hope this explanation for why I am closing this thread will help everyone understand the decisions we are making to keep the Delta forum a happy place to be.
I encourage anyone who would like to continue this conversation to take it to OMNI P/R. And to the OP @ajl1239 you need 180 days of membership,
and 180 posts to post in OMNI. You are qualified on length of time on the forum, I encourage you to post more
