In 2006-2008 when I was flying Northwest United had audio entertainment on their entire mainline fleet and video on everything but the 737s, American had audio and video on everything but their MD-80s, Continental had audio and video and debuted DirecTV in 2008. Frontier even had DirecTV. The Northwest seat were something in a class of their own in terms of their shabbiness

The F/G club is horrible. The bathrooms are terrible and there is no view of anything out the windows. It's easily my least favorite lounge. Even if it was the nicest lounge furniture from any lounge, it would still be horrible.

I gotta say, it turned out much better than I thought it would. Delta at the time was a good airline in my book, whereas NW was one of my most hated. Glad the Delta culture and practices prevailed. The same cannot be said for the demise of my beloved Continental Airlines...

Maybe you are just be lumping A319's and A320's together, but for the record the A319's were not that old at time of merger and were still in pretty good shape. I suspect you are thinking of the A320's which are older and were definitely showing their age. First A320's were delivered to NW in 1989 while the A319's deliveries did not begin until a decade later in 1999 with final A319 delivered in 2003.

There were footrests on NWA 757's for several years post merger, even after they did some basic refurbs of new blue seat covers.

I miss getting upgrades as a Silver.
I also miss the tea infusion (or whatever it was called: it resembled frozen yogurt) in the MSP Worldclubs.

long live the 742s and 744s that would take me between GUM and HNL (via NRT), and even the DC-10-40s that would fly me between GUM and HNL in the early to mid 90's.
wow I remember when NW would have three 744s flying between NRT and HNL at times - that was crazy. And then the intra-asia based 752s.
return to GUM, DL!

miss how easy it was to modify or change the ticket. now my call would be transferred to the international manual reissue desk which means on the phone with them for more than 30 minutes. there were times i was put on hold for an hour. using miles/cert to upgrade on KL flights was easy. now it is harder. also miss the japanese meals in/out of narita. will definitely miss that hub since it was so easy to transfer. hopefully delta will upgrade the computer system. spending on the phone with them over 30 minutes minimum is just not acceptable.
