Note to lounge. I have tried to give up my beer snobbery. I always prefer draft beer of course and have tended to not drink cans of beer at home but out of bottles only. However, lately I have had some rather good beers out of cans (though usually pour into a glass). I will post pictures when I next get a chance. Not just IPAs either.

Craft beer in cans is a definite trend in the Pacific Northwest, at least. The logistics cost is lower, and many people seek out cans because they are easier to take camping/hiking/picnicking in situations where heavy and fragile glass bottles are banned or inappropriate. Cans have a thin plastic lining these days, so there shouldn’t be any issues with metallic taste affecting the product.

Fremont Brewing, my neighborhood brewery just down the street from my office, is exclusively canning now, I believe...

Yes PPG make one. They take a butylated resole and cook a type 7 epoxy into it and then thin coat and bake it on. There is also an electrocoat version I believe.
So not strictly plastic but I knew what you meant

Cans are big in PA too. One of our local breweries uses crowlers.

LOL! There's a story to the cupcakes... Our department admin called to order a dozen. The person who took the order said she wasn't sure they could do a dozen, and said she would have the manager call. The manager never called, so the next day, she called to check, and they took the order again, but said, "We need 48 hours for orders." Our admin said, "I called to order them yesterday." Yesterday morning, they called her to confirm that she wanted 2 dozen cupcakes.
