IMO it's not so much the dated? appearance but rather how the lounge furniture is already looking worn and sad, starting with the choice (very bad taste IMO) to use DL lounge colors of light blue, chrome, and white plastic, not to mention the fake velour chair coverings. The "classic" PMNW or DL club decor was much better. Plus, I really miss the fireplaces, and it isn't even Thanksigving time.
OTOH, I'm willing to be very forgiving if I can flash my card and claim some free glasses of real (luxury bar) champagne, even if a tip is expected.

What about those living walls that are covered in growing green plants? Maybe not, as I don't want spiders, birds' nests, snakes, squirrels (even if of the ESA variety), and other wildlife in my lounge, present company excepted of course.

I was at one of those "green" lounges and I heard something dropped from one of the living walls. When I looked at my plate, there was a spider adding some extra flavor to my breakfast.

Protein is good for you, especially if the animal was lean and fit so that the "meat" is low fat. A spider probably also contain some fiber, which is also healthy.
Now, back to my unhealthy dinner.
BTW, the green walls that I know are behind the check in desks at AmEx Centurion airport lounges (so only employees should be there, and not eating on the job in full view of customers/clients/cardmembers), above immigration at SIN, and IIRC somewhere in the lobby at the DTW Westin with the bamboo forest, where one would hope that the bamboo trees would contain more wildlife than the relatively innocuous living green wall.

are any LoungeTM denizens anticipating being at LAX on Wed evening (7 Nov, ~2200-midnight PST)? I’m departing on the awful MSP redeye at 0055 ... willing to drop $29 on the SC entrance fee, but would not at all object if a fellow FTer could guest me in
thx in advance
