Hawks and falcons will hunt and eat other birds. It's the food chain!

I don't post here as much as I used to, but I still like you people, so I am going to air out my travel dilemma..
I flew a lot of other airlines this year for various reasons. That currently has me slated to finish the year with 65k on DL. Enough for gold and roll over 15k. I have a trip booked on Wednesday for a 6 day PVG/HKG trip that I only paid $650 for. It's not a pure mileage run, as I don't do those anymore, but it is just for the MQM's. I'll stay on the ground for a few days, but in a place I've been to enough. Bottom line is, I don't want to go. I have a new home that I'm really comfortable in and am making moves to travel less (than well over 100k a year). The only real benefit of Plat over gold for me is award cancel fees. But I really don't even have that much DL left. I buy F when I really want it and still have a few RUC's left for next year. Thoughts?

Hey Lounge folk, sorry to post this here but I don't have time to navigate the awful search function of FT. I am very close to hitting DM, made the MQD, now waiting on MQMs or segments to fill up. My question is, if I make DM on segments but not miles, what happens to all the miles above the PM level? Do they just vanish?

Thank you. We need more poultry pictures, not just Thors, in our new lounge. Your chicks are adorable.
BTW, isn't seven and a half years old too ancient to even be a good soup chicken or coq au vin if you prefer French comfort food?

Earlier boarding and a better shot at overhead bin space. More domestic upgrades.
