Delta to start seasonal EDI-BOS

http://www.travelweekly.co.uk/articl...burgh-us-route

Delta Air Lines is adding a second daily departure from Edinburgh next summer by adding a new service to Boston’s Logan International Airport from May 24.

The new service is on top of the existing daily service to New York-JFK. The seasonal Boston route will operate twice every day during the peak summer months.

Delta has scheduled a 163-seat Boeing 757-200ER aircraft between Edinburgh and Boston, offering 16 fully flat-bed seats in the Delta One business class cabin, in-seat entertainment for every passenger, Wi-Fi access and free mobile messaging.
Looks to me like DL/VS are really trying to turn up the heat and dethrone BA on the UK-BOS market. This year will see:
  • Second daily VS service from LHR
  • Seasonal three weekly VS service from MAN
  • Seasonal daily DL service from EDI

Any idea when this will be bookable? Just searched a few dates next summer and nada. We're going to Edinburgh next summer for a trip and this was perfect timing, especially with Norwegian halting all direct flights from PVD.

I'm always happy for new routes and new destinations but they aren't going to dethrone BA/AA - that JV has a ton more capacity and routes UK-USA.

Wow, kind of shocked they're selling the front cabin as business class.

Official announcement from Delta:

https://news.delta.com/delta-continu...ights-scotland

looks like the 75S for BOS-EDI will be coming from BOS-DUB, which will be upgauged to the 763ER next summer.

Since this is going to use the 75S with lie-flats, does anyone have a list of which trans-atlantic routes are getting the 75H domestic instead?

I believe JFK-GLA has switched to the domestic config with PS instead.

JFK-GLA has switched back to the D1-configured 75S. Right now, the only domestic 757 TATL routes for Summer 2019 are:
JFK-KEF
JFK-SNN
JFK-PDL
MSP-KEF
BOS-LIS

I wish one of the two daily flights was BOS-GLA instead.

Back in the NW days, I flew BOS-GLA on a DC10. And before GLA, several years before, as I recall, I flew to PIK -- don't recall the US origin, though.
