Long time lurker first time poster, but I figured I would add my 2 cent and ask what may have caused it. Back in Feb I booked an award ticket from ATL to NRT, connecting in ORD and TPE, on this upcoming Dec 25th. The ATL-ORD leg was originally scheduled for 9:20PM-10:28PM, but in we received a flight change notice from ANA. New departure time of 4:50PM, and now our flight is the very last flight of the day instead of the three I remember seeing leaving in the neighborhood of 7PM, my 9PM, and a 10PM. My assumption was that United or the UAX operator consolidated all the later flights down into one departing earlier in the day.

Dec 25th is a common day for reduced schedules. This far in advance that is likely what happened. (Or scheduling forgot and loaded a full schedule and is now correcting)

What doesn't happen (excluding IRROPS/ATC restrictions) and what is being discussed is DoD cancellations due to loads.

On the internet and in ALL CAPS, so it's a law by RULE.

I see. A little frustrating it took them that long to catch it, but oh well.
