I first noticed this yesterday, so unless they were just early it's not April Fools: if you get the latest new Delta UI rollout, A220 flights are getting the "NEW FLAGSHIP" designator previously reserved for the A350.

On the older UI (or it may just be semi-random) it merely says "NEW AIRCRAFT".

I agree, seems a bit much to me. Wasn't reserved for the A350 tho, the modified 777s also get this label. Surprisingly to me, the new A330-900 just says "New Aircraft" but I'd bet $5 that it will change to new flagship some day.

Why does the wiki say ATL-AVL in March 2019?
I doubt any A220s have ever been to AVL and in the March 2020 schedule that's available, there are none scheduled on the route

Good question. I checked Expertflyer for one week of each of the next eleven months and couldn't find any 220s on the ATL-AVL route. I've deleted it from the Wiki.

I booked a ticket to fly to and from EWR over Memorial Day weekend. Seems A220 service into EWR from DTW starts the day I leave: I'm flying the A220 on Tuesday 05/28 at 5pm!

I'm looking forward to flying this plane. I'm flying DTW-JFK in the middle of August and I'm booked into the 1st row of Comfort+. Looks like it'll be a brand new plane. Don't think I've ever had that happen before.

Update - After flying Comfort+ I really don't see much if any reason for first class on an A220 unless it was a free or really cheap upgrade.

I've flown this plane four times now, and each time it was the crew's first time on the plane. They generally seem to like it but often seem confused about how to do basic stuff like adjust lighting, reset IFE, etc.

Hopefully that doesn't include the pilot and copilot

You'd be surprised at how often this happens on some aircraft types. My jaw almost hit the floor when I was flying domestic Delta One on a 757 and heard the purser say "Oh wow, we have an international aircraft today! I've never worked a flight with seats that turned into beds before!"

oh man...

Should I assume she was unfamiliar with the nuances of the different service standards in Delta One?

for some reason I thought Delta One cabin crew were specially trained (or just senior), but I recently learned that might not be true.

Not to stray too far off, but one time there was a last minute crew swap on a 767 JFk-LAX. I was in D1. The FAs up in front knew what they were doing, but the FAs in the back were pretty clueless. During disembarkation, one of them was taking to me and said oh wow, what are these, Ive never seen these before (referring to the amenity kits). I showed her mine, and she looked through it as if it was the first time shed ever seen one.

Wow the leg room in F is tight. Sitting in the bulkhead makes it even worse with the curvature of the fuselage. Im pretty sure Ive had more legroom in UA Economy Plus.
