Looking through the schedule change Saturday thread is probably the best resource for finding when the changes will occur. I doubt there is a specific time you'll be reliably able to log on and see the new inventory.

i was able to grab a seat at 6:45 am et for the 6 AM LGA-BOS, it was wide open. curiously, i booked a seat on that flight yesterday and the reservation didn't change over to the a220 flight.

There are some quirks in how the new flights loaded into the system. The 7:45a LGA-DFW says A220 if you shop for a new ticket but A319 on the seat map and on existing reservations. Hard to tell if that'll be the 220 or not based on the current state of the data.

ETA: DL confirmed a bit later that flight is on an A220. Hooray!

So, it looks like the 6am Lga-Bos is the first. Is that the one to get for the inaugural, or will all 220 flights that day have festivities?

Delta doesn't give you the option to select the first 220 flight ex-BOS as a roundtrip purchase (LGA-BOS-LGA), but you can buy two one-ways.

My original guess was because they wanted to bring down the average segment length to under 1,000 to avoid paying Airbus any additional fees, but if that's not the case, I'm not sure.

Perhaps they think they can pull traffic from other carriers? I've never had a problem with the regional jets with real F they've had on the route.. who knows!

Probably makes utilization sense. Tack on a short segment in the early morning/late night, vs the planes sitting. Allows them to move the 717s elsewhere.
