This published report makes it seem that FAA was much further in the WN certification process and required FAA legal and other approval.

One could only imagine if these a/c ever experienced an incident and a crafty attorney linked the certification to the partial government shutdown payment scheme as described above.

WN was simply putting newly delivered aircraft of a already approved type in their fleet. That is vastly different from starting service with a new fleet type and even further removed from a fleet type never in service with any US airline.

Does the A220 have wifi installed? I noticed that DL was not trying to sell me wifi on my A220 ticket.

DL's A220s have a wireless IFE system created by Gogo, so yes.

Got a text and an email regarding inclement weather in NYC on Thursday.

I will be waiting for the 6am flight out of LGA come hell or high water. The ticket is sunk cost to me. Take my money Delta, and get me on the flight.

Had a blast on the very first revenue flight (DL744) with plane full of AvGeeks from LGA to BOS. Took the same plane (DL917) back, and am about 10 minutes from the office (got lucky with Q70-SBS to the F train. No wait at all.

My takeaways:

1) Super quite engines, even sitting next to/near. A few folks from Pratt & Whitney were on board the inaugural flight from LGA to BOS, and they were really proud; as they should be!

2) I think it's cool C Series is prominently featured when you first step onto the plane.

3) It's good to see seat back entertainment system on these types of planes. Do bulkheads have them?

4) Air show had some glitches - still displayed the ferry flight from ATL to LGA

5) A bunch of us made the direct turn after the inaugural flight, but the "second" flight was considerably subdued - felt much like a regular shuttle flight between New York City and Boston; actually, it was.
