Question Odd Buddy Pass Travel Booking Possible

I have looked everywhere... google... flyer talk forums - can't find a definitive answer. I am trying to book a rather "strange" round-trip ticket.... don't laugh :

SFO (San Fran) to JFK (New York) x 2 weeks there - then to SYD (Sydney Australia) via LAX...... then back to SFO (San Fran)

PLEASE.... don't laugh !

just wanted to know if this was possible.... or should I stop smoking ! ...(or.... should I START smoking!) )))

Thanks flyertalk geniuses !

ps: I asked my friend (of 20 years) for help on this... but he is kind of grandfathered into delta... and doesn't want to deal with this. He suggested to fly to JFK on my own....
then USE a BP from JFK to SYD (via LAX)...then return to SFO.

ps: helpful notes for others searching routing.... BP's usually allows either "one way" routing... or "roundtrip" routing. and either destination can include skipping to the an airport adjacent to the one you landed at that is within 100 miles. Skipping one leg of a multi-airport trip.... can void (according to some on this forum) the entire remainder of the itinerary.

I think confusion is a BP is generally considered a boarding pass. Normally buddy pass isn't shortened to BP, it's spelled out. At least on FT.

If I am thinking correctly, Delta would consider this a circle trip. Circle trips are not permitted on Buddy Passes.

SFO to JFK can be cheap with a 21 day advance purchase. The buddy pass cash amount will likely be less than a $100 difference to buying a confirmed seat.

Why not buy that one way ticket then use your buddy pass roundtrip between JFK and SYD?
