Same day confirm question
Hello!
Need some clarification, thanks in advance. I am looking to purchase a one way ticket for July 26th from HKG to JFK and apply GUC on it. My questions is if I clear the regular first class on DL913 can I then request to be put on DL1473 which is a D1 flight? Once I am cleared for first class on DL913 am I entitled to D1 seat on DL1473 if there is space? Also, I can only request it once I am in SEA after DL38, correct? |
So your current routing is HKG-SEA-JFK? You used to be able to SDC from a regular F routing to a D1 routing, but they have (officially) removed this option. You might find an agent willing to help you out here.
One other thing to consider, though, is that if you are on a GUC, you will probably be at the top of the upgrade list, so they might let you SDC to the flight in Y and clear the normal upgrade list. And yes, you can only request it after all international segments on your itinerary are complete. If you have a return to HGK on this ticket it won't work. |

OP, yes can only be done upon arrival to SEA. If you've already cleared then it should be no issue to move. However prepare for HUACA due to incompetent agents. It's not their fault, but Delta's for cheaping out on training. |
Do not count on flying in D1. Midsummer, mid-day departure means that the chances of availability are slim. Even if an agent were prepared to do this, if there is no seat, there is no seat. Be prepared to fly in Y if you want this service.
