Online Checkin Departing MUC

Hi all! I am coming home from MUC tomorrow with a traveling companion in the same reservation. I can check them in online, but can't check myself in because of government regulations according to dl.com. Anybody have any experience with this or any idea why I can check them in but not myself?

Also, I will be in MUC tonight as I am spending the night and then flying out in the morning. Does anybody know if I will be able to use a kiosk to check in tonight (not checking any bags)?

Thanks!

That’s code for SSSS on your boarding pass. It’s fine. Happening to a lot of people these days out of Europe

Check-in issues due to "Government Regulations" is indeed SSSS at least 99% of the time. The remaining 1% could be because the airline did not send the APIS information and it needs to be manually entered at the airport. I've seen it not only out of Europe, but also other international destionations (Caribbean, South America).

Also, the last 3 times I’ve left MUC to the USA on Delta, it has taken almost 90 minutes to checkin (first round of questions), go through exit EU immigration, security, and then the special security area for the US flights where you could be picked for more scrutiny and then take a bus to the airport.

Germany used to be a pinnacle of efficiency but not in my experiences in the past year.
