That's a good catch, as indeed a flight from KEF-MSP would be covered. Still only gets OP up to 600 euros (about $705 USD.)

600 Euro in cash (which is how EU261 is to be paid), not DL dollars, which is what they'll first try to entice the OP with.
An airline may also offer a voucher or miles or something else of similar or greater value but it is up to the passenger to chose how they want to receive their compensation. So one passenger say an irregular DLflyer may want the cash but a regular one may find that an $800 credit or a large number of miles to be more valuable to them - BA was experimenting with offering something like 80k avios for example as an alternative to the €600. |

I don't have a lot of experience with Delta, but if you're asking for $2k, you'd probably have better luck going to some corporate department as opposed to the regular customer service channel.
What credit card did you use to book the ticket? Perhaps you can get some benefits from the credit card for the delay. Doubt it, I don't see "emotional distress" anywhere in the post ;) |

Had a similar situation but for a much shorter route, which resulted in:
- 600 Euros for the delay (EU261) - Check received by mail - USD 200 as a downgrade compensation (Voucher) These two were generated almost immediately. Then 2 months later DL got back to me and told me that after re-calculating the fare with the lowest economy class fare for the downgraded segment, I was owed around USD 400, which was refunded to the original form of payment. |
Called Delta Customer Care today.
Initially got offered $200 travel credit for the delay and a refund TBD of the difference in fare from Delta One MSP-HNL to first/coach MSP-LAX-HNL. I felt that was not adequate so asked about EU261 and got transferred to Air France. Per agent, I should be getting exactly what SDQBound posted: - €600 - $200 travel voucher - Refund of fare difference TBD She just needs to confirm on some grid that the delay qualifies. I'm surprised Delta isn't more generous w/ travel credits instead of paying out cash. |
Help! June 2013 delayed DL177
Hi,
I have been searching the internet left right and center for actual flight times for a flight I took on June 29, 2013. I bought the ticket through Air France but it was operated by Delta. The flight outbound was delayed by approx. 6 hours due to the delay of the inbound flight for maintience issues. I have contacted both Delta and Air France who have told me they do not hold records past 3 years and that im basically on my own. I am trying to claim compensation for this as we were delayed so long. I entered this with a company that would take 25% of the proceeds if they win the case, however I have opened this in March of 2017 and they have told me that it was rejected initially and that it is now with the lawyers. When I asked why it was rejected, they cant give me an answer. I have been trying to find this information but am running into walls since the flight was so long ago. Does anyone know where I can find this information as it is so old? The flight details are below: AF3612 operated by DL177 June 29, 2013 scheduled to leave DUB at 9:30 and arrive at ATL 13:15 If anyone could help me out that would be amazing! Even if to point me in the right direction |
