I'm thinking JFK-BOM or DTW-BOM. That's my guess.

Let find out soon enough.

Anecdotally, I've noticed that DTW-AMS is a huge feeder flight for AMS-BOM. I bet Delta could make a nonstop to BOM from DTW work pretty easily.

Northwest ran it's own AMS-BOM flight (and I believe Delta did for sometime after the merger.) It's not out of the realm of possibility, but I can't imagine that flight running from anything other than ATL and then JFK.

ive also noticed that sfo-ams is a big feeder for ams-del/bom, which surprised me...though dtw stands a better chance than sfo

It pretty much is. IIRC Bastian has already said it'll be either ATL or JFK to BOM.

My take, If Georgia gives a permeant jet fuel tax break then ATL-BOM happens.
No tax break then Delta does JFK-BOM.

The times are pretty similar to when I flew it "back in the day".

Departs _________Arrives
JFK at 9:15 p.m. BOM at 10:50 P.M. (next day)
BOM at 12:50 a.m. JFK at 6:35 a.m.

Now if they can just find a partner that can get me from BOM to DEL in the wake of Jet’s demise, my life will be a little easier.

Launching on the 77L? Wondering what’s getting dropped for this.

Back when this thread started, I had a feeling they'd put it on a BOM flight: ATL - NRT moving to A350 effective 10/27/19
(MSP-ICN and ATL-NRT got moved from a 77L to an A359 )

DL has significantly more large long-distance planes than it needs to operate its network. There is no need to drop anything. There are only 2 or 3 routes in the network that actually require the 77L

The 7CB will likely be run daily on LAX-JFK rotating the PVG-LAX or HND-LAX frame back to JFK and in reverse also.
The 7CB running SYD-LAX-ATL-LAX-SYD debuts next week on the domestic leg.

A virtually impossible complimentary upgrade on that LAX-ATL-LAX 777 will be getting pretty tough even with RUC's. Hollywood pays for F on that route and there will only be 28 F suites.

DL interlines with many, many carriers outside of SkyTeam or codeshare arrangements. DL will interline with Air India.
