I will go first ... with a challenge to beat it. This was a search for $ and miles.

Only 4 left at this price. Youd better snatch that right up.

Was about to pull the trigger but then remembered the 75,000 RDM cap.

That extra 21 cents changed my mind.

Should put this in the "How do I hit the new waiver in one purchase" category.

So does that $400,130.21 count as "Base Fare" towards MQDs or is that considered "taxes and fees" and thus no MQD credit?

I tried to reproduce this but it came up not available -- someone must have noticed the bargain and snapped up the last 4 seats. Damn those bloggers killing all the good deals posted on FT!

I realize this thread is in jest and maybe this is obvious but the price in the OPs message is a previously reported bug with the Delta website where the award ticket price in miles is incorrectly parsed as the taxes/surcharges in dollars. So the actual fare would be 400,000 miles + $130.21.

OP could have taken the effort to search and add a first strike to the home of Molson. That would have dumped the $2,700 in YQ fares.

That knocks it down to $397,430.21 AI. A significant saving.

That would still be astronomical in my book.

OP, make sure you apply for the Gold SkyMiles Credit Card by American Express before you complete your purchase, you will see a $150 credit on your statement within 10 weeks (if approved). Should hopefully help with the cost a little bit.
