Reciprocal benefits with Delta and Virgin Australia
Hi all, I have been trying to find information confirming the Delta (skymiles) benefits available to VA Platinum. I can see various references on the VA website, but I am having difficulty getting something I can print out ( from DELTA ) and have with me to assist ground staff. I.E. free checked baggage and lounge access, priority boarding, priority check in, etc. I am planning a few internal US flights and find it difficult to get this information. My latest request to DL on a codeshare query took 6 weeks to get a response, so I though best to ask those in the know. I have no status with DL (will earn 7500 miles+ on the way over in I) cheers

The relevant Delta website page is here:
https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...-partners.html
It should not be difficult to get the benefits when flying DL, just make sure your VA number is on the itinerary, and it is mostly automatic. The only issue I've had is SkyClub access at some obscure locations, they might need some assistance explaining that you have access on a domestic itinerary (regular DL Platinum members don't even get this access, but VA Platinum do).
I've never had to carry any documentation with me to receive my benefits, but it isn't a bad idea I suppose.

Thanks,
CPMaverick, what you say is reassuring, but that link seems to describe what DL medallion members will get with VA, rather than the other way round. I might be a bit anal, but I haven’t seen written anywhere VA plats will get xx baggage ( free baggage is my objective) I can only find a vague reference to “ depends on fare class ... etc
appreciate your reply cheers

OK thx will head there. just received this -Thank you for contacting us about your benefits and baggage allowance when travelling with Delta Airlines. I can confirm that as a Platinum member, you are entitled to the same baggage allowance as Delta Gold Medallion members.
