DL 006 vs KLM 074 questions (Seats/GUC)

What is the latest pitfalls of booking a KL marketed flights from USA-Europe versus on DL marketed.

Here is my quick scenario. DL is coming back at 4300 "H fare" and KLM coming back for the same flights and routes at 2700 "K fare". Only difference is KLM flight numbers versus Delta flight numbers.

I think I fully understand that KLM Marketed flights will earn only 20% of distance flown versus actual dollar cost for the MQD for the over water segments from MSP-AMS.

Do I lose out on seats/Delta Comfort or GUC on the DL operated flights from MSP-AMS? I am not as concerned as AMS-DXB-AMS-BUD-AMS flights.

Seats and GUC are my biggest questions. I tried to search and really couldn't find anything.

thanks in advance as I try to catch up on all the latest changes.

GUC can only be used on KLM YB OR M fare class. On DL can be used on any except E.

C+ will be DoD upgrade if on KL coded flight. Advance upgrade can only be done if DL coded.

Oh that is brutal, no Delta comfort or GUC even as a delta diamond.

Maybe this irrelevant, but could you be making a mistake in your search? Those flight numbers are not correct. The MSP-AMS flights are DL 160/162/164 and KL 0656.

Think those are prices, not flight numbers.

I’m talking about the thread title.

Those are ticket stock numbers. All DL issued tickets start with 006 and KLM issued tickets 074.

$4,300 for USA <-> Europe should be an expensive Z fare. I wonder what market has coach fares for $4,300!?

Depending on the market, it could be an itinerary without a Saturday night stay, close in and/or during a peak period. Surprising that it only books into H, though, I'd expect a higher bucket. At least it's mileage upgrade eligible :P

In terms of the OP's question though, ticketing stock doesn't matter. Marketing carrier does - so a KL coded, DL ticketed, DL operated flight would run into the same issues as a KL coded, KL ticketed, DL operated flight.

It's MSP-AMS-DXB-AMS-BUD-AMS-MSP where AMS is just a connector

It's now moved to H on the outbound MSP-DXB and M for the other two flights. I would not have a Saturday stay. Out on Sunday back on Friday.

Not from MSP. It would be a very cheap Z fare.

So the tough thing by booking KLM for 1700 less I lose on all ability to upgrade and get delta comfort.

Correct. I was just replying to Carmen who was having a brain freeze and thought those were flight numbers.
