Booking Basic Fare on Delta for AF Operating Flights
I apologize if this has been covered; my obligatory searches couldn't find the answer. I've got Delta vouchers that I'm considering using and thus need to book on Delta.com. I'm looking at flights that are on AF metal. There is a $100 difference between Basic Economy and Main Economy. I understand what the differences are on Delta flights between the two, but what is the difference if the flights are operating on Air France? Would I be able to select seats ahead of time, for instance (with or without a fee?) Would I receive a free checked bag (on Delta metal, clearly not, but AF)?
Thanks. |
I don't think Air France offers BE, so even if it is a Delta flight, AF won't have BE inventory offered. Same would hold true if your to want C+. Air France does not have C+ inventory because they don't offer C+ even if it is a Delta operated flight. Someone correct me if they have seen differently.

Delta's announced of BE expansion to Trans Atlantic said that their partners would be aligning with their fare structure. I'm just not sure what that really means. I know that on Virgin, even with a "main" economy fare, you have to pay for seat assignments. I remember paying for a seat assignment on AF on the past too, but that was the days before Basic Economy. Now, they may be aligned for baggage fees, if so, would AF collect a fee at check in?
