what to expect from Delta Business Class?

Greetings,

New to the forums.

I have finally axxrued enough miles to get a Business CLass upgrade. My flight is Delta PDX - MNL via NRT. I have never flown Business Class before and don't really know what to expect/ For example, should I pack sleepwear, or is it a wrinkled clothes affair when it comes to lie flat bedding? Will I get priority when going through transfer at narita? I know I have to go through another security check point before boarding my flight to Manila. Do people tip the flight attendants?

Anything else would be appreciated. Sorry for sounding so naive.

Welcome to Flyertalk, skemet.
This link will give you a sense of what business class will look like:
Delta One International Business Class Seattle to London ? sevenR

If you want sleepwear, you'll need to bring your own.
No need to tip the flight attendants.

Delta provides sleepwear on transpacific flights in business.

I can't remember if there's a priority line, but you won't really need one at NRT for DL to DL transfers.

No tipping.

Seems like it depends on the route. (This Delta update is a couple years old: https://news.delta.com/new-delta-one...flight-slumber) Does anyone have current information regarding the routes on which it is provided?

Sleepwear wasn't offered in business on our Delta flight SEA-NRT last summer.
We will fly in business class on Delta this summer, SEA-CDG.
I wonder if it might be offered there; would anyone know?

All TPAC flights get them, so that might have been a one-off error. SEA-CDG is TATL so no.

None offered SEA-NRT last week, FWIW. I don't really care, wouldn't have asked for them, but are they on request only?

I think they may be. I remember having to request them on SEA-HKG.

My impression is still that it's based on destination and/or stage length.

On a quick search I couldn't find anything definitive one way or the other but SEA-HKG is explicitly mentioned here:

Delta One PJs

Data point: HKG-SEA, 4 days ago:
Sleepwear was offered to all business class passengers by the flight attendants passing through the aisles (they were not just left at the seats, as are such things as headphones).
As side note, I still had on the shirt during the continuation of the flight (SEA-ATL), and Mr Bastian (also a passenger on that leg) expressed approval.
They're actually very nice PJs.

Another data point here: We flew NRT-PDX in D1 last June and no sleepwear was provided.

Was he sitting in Y as he said he does, or was that just fake PR?

First.
No comment on the PR issue.
Possibly he was using a RUC (just kidding!).
