Delta should fee shame: American or United should offer them First Class!

After that they can just attach it to their carry-on luggage

Might be easy to do with one. I have a friend with 12. Can you imagine all of those dangling from the side of a carry-on? Her biggest challenge is getting through security with them as they stand out when her bag is screened and have to be checked out by TSA. She doesn't travel with them much, fortunately, and they stay locked up in a safe at home most of the time.

ICN-SEA and ICN-DTW flight that I have flow last year were completely full. 2 of GUC applied I don't think even cleared.

Delta’s miss here was ha fling this more humorously and turning it into a positive thing short of giving the seats away. Can you imagine if a DM DYKWIA lost an UG chance via GUC cause DL gave their seats away? We’d have this same thread with a different tone had that happened.

Agreed - this would have been a much better tweet. It seems likely that the flight was genuinely sold out or close to it.

That said, kind of amateurish for the curling association to grovel on Twitter for upgrades.

If they want a better seat, they can use their gold medal money to pay for it.

This was probably my favorite tweet about the matter:

A lot of hate here for the Curling Team, despite the Association (who was too cheap to pay for J in the first place) asking for upgrades.

Sheesh, no criticism is warranted against Delta or the curling team (congrats guys! BTW). Criticism is deserved by those attacking either party. For airlines, free upgrades based on who you will just make them go bankrupt, not to mention the ire by their best customers. Seriously, aren't veterans, who sacrificed for our country just as deserving (there's millions of them) as are Gold Star families who lost loved ones in our defense? The list goes on and on for "deserving" people. Those criticizing are idiots.

One flyer (is named in the article) gave up his D1 seat to John Shuster (one of the curlers). Props for the random act of kindness. Yahoo does call it First Class as a PSA.
