Older thread but just to arm future folks. I have a large list of $50 gift cards (Amex Platinum reimbursement anyone?) and the way that I got them to use 9 of them on a single transaction was to call the delta line and ask if they could call the delta gift card team and combine those cards into a single $450 card. Turns out they could. It wasn't easy as I wasn't allowed to email the gift card numbers and they required I read them over the phone. But after about 40 minutes they had combined 9 cards into one, and then I used that to purchase my tickets. Hopefully that helps someone.
curl, DiverDave and strickerj like this.

Have a few from the Amex Sync deal I will have to try this with. Thanks!

Is there a direct number to the delta gift card team? That way can skip a step.

Yes, I'd be interested in that direct number too. Thanks!

I would LOVE to know how you got this done as both the Diamond line and Delta on twitter says you can not do this. Nor is this option stated anywhere on Delta.com

All the gift card links on Delta.com just put up the standard Delta 800 number. I too would LOVE a number to Delta that could get this done!

I was just able to use 26 Delta gift cards in a single transaction (mostly $50). It did take close to 2 hours to process.

From what the agent said, anything over 3 gift cards requires a supervisor. The process involved me reading all 26 gift cards, which took maybe 20 minutes (including setting up the actual flights and her verifying the process with supervisors). Somewhere between 3 and 26 gift cards they started running into system issues (which explains the other hour and 40 minutes). Everyone on the Delta side was surprised it took as long as it did, but they had never done that many before either. They didn't tell me what they were doing to process, but I did get an email while I was waiting on hold, that I had a travel voucher that was worth my first 17 gift cards.

I have no status and did this by calling into the main reservation line, so this is available to anyone who's got some free time.

Seems like it is policy to be able to use more than 3 over the phone.

How many Delta Gift Cards can I redeem at one time?
Up to 3 gift cards can be redeemed per transaction on delta.com. If you wish to redeem more than 3 cards for a single purchase, please call 1-800-221-1212 and a Reservations Specialist will be able to assist you.

Is this a recent change? Either way, great to see it on the website, but I bet it will take time for all phone reps to allow this. I personally have gone 1/3 in the past using >3 eGC at a time over the phone.

Not sure, was going to try to use more than 3 so started searching online. Unfortunately by hr time I found that page, my cheap multi city rate was gone.

I called Delta last night. I told them I wanted to use 10 cards and he took all 10 numbers and verified them. Then he said he needed to talk to supervisor. When he came back he said they could only take 5 per reservation.

Two questions. (1) Is there a fee to use more than three cards? If so, how much? (2) Since the service of a phone agent is required, there is a ticketing charge to be paid, correct? If so, how much? Thanks.

Delta no longer charges to make reservations over the phone, so no fees.

Also, for question 1, I've never been charged any extra fees for redeeming more than 3 eGCs. Whether you're able to do more than 3 seems very YMMV even though it is on the FAQ now. Even if it is now 5, that helps a bunch.
