Is it possible to use more than 3 gift cards in one booking?

Out of curiosity, why are people purchasing gift cards in small denominations? Are there promotions that provide discounts but that only allow small denominations?
Also, I presume you can pay part gift card and part credit card?

Of if you get lucky, get an agent to merge multiple GC/vouchers into one big GC/voucher. I've only need to use more than 3 vouchers/GC twice. In both cases the agents put me on hold and "merged" them. Basically they cancel out all of them, and just give you one in their place.

Talking with a rep via Facebook Messenger (as suggested by another user here at FT) - they originally said they could only do 3 gift cards and they couldn't take the gift card code and redemption number via Social Media.
I pushed a little saying I heard it could be done - I'm guessing the person checked with a supervisor and said there is a manual over-ride that they can use to do more than 3 gift cards. Just provided the gift card code and redemption codes. They are handling and will call to finish the transaction over the phone

Swagbucks is currently doing 10% off on $100 Delta GC redemptions but not on the larger denominations. So I've been picking up some of those.

Just FYI, Delta text message worked great. Applied 11 gift certificates x $50 for 4 tickets for family. It took a while since I had to send secure form for each person travelling. I was able to screen shot the gift certs no problem. Also, had $125 ecredit on one account and they were able to use gift card for rest of that balance.
At least I didn't have to wait on hold and could work while I message delta. Glad I finally had use of all of these $50 Amex Delta gift cards from quite a few years ago!
