Do I have lounge access

On this itinerary:

Gold Medallion:
MSP-IAD F(A fare)
IAD-LHR J(A fare, upgrade with miles to G) (DL-coded, VS operated)
LHR-MSP Y(H fare)

For sure I have Clubhouse access at IAD. And No. 1 lounge at LHR. But do I have SkyClub access in MSP? If yes, is it because of my GM status? My UC ticket? My charm and good looks?

Please and thank you!

You wouldn't have access to the SC at MSP since you're terminating there. You won't be able to reenter airside without an onward boarding pass. If you did have an onward flight you would have access thanks to your GM (STE+) status.

On the outbound I mean. I''m not on a SkyTeam TATL flight technically, so not sure the STE+ counts...

Yes you would, since the overwater segment is ticketed in Upper Class.

Even though it's technically not SkyTeam, I believe that GM+ still grants SC access when traveling with VS. Not 100% sure though.

Do not believe this is true. There's nothing in the VS partnership FAQ's and Sky Club access rules to indicate Skyteam rules apply, only access to VS lounges. I believe same-day VS Upper Class ticket may allow MSP access however.

The VS/DL alliance includes "Reciprocal Delta Sky Club and Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse access at applicable airports for Upper Class and BusinessElite passengers, Flying Club Gold members and SkyMiles Platinum and Diamond members" according to the original press release.

I do not have experience with this, but I'd be very surprised if anyone is turned away from a SkyClub with a same-day J ticket on VS (especially with a DL flight number). I'm not quite as sure about Medallion status-based access, since DL has been reducing those benefits recently.

Please do report your experience.

I’ll definitely report back. I’m glad I didn’t miss the obvious answer. I did search around and couldn’t find a definitive answer. Was hoping someone had experience.

Some posts from this thread suggest the answer is no but seems far from conclusive (with a fair amount of confusion and no real guidance from DL/VS including Twitter)

Was the VS flight sold as a Delta codeshare? You could make the argument that it's a "DL" flight since it has a Delta flight number.

It was, though unhelpfully when the upgrade to Upper Class went through, it was switched to the VS flight number.

Yeah, I tweeted Delta and got no reply.

If you get into the Skyclub in Minneapolis, it'll be because you're a Gold Medallion international passenger "flying in any cabin."

Complimentary access to most worldwide SkyTeam lounges is available to Diamond, Platinum, and Gold Medallion Members when traveling in any cabin on a same-day international SkyTeam-operated flight. Members must present membership card and their same-day ticket for an international SkyTeam-operated flight or same-day domestic SkyTeam-operated flight connecting to an international SkyTeam-operated flight for SkyTeam lounge access. SkyTeam lounge benefits are provided only at the departure airport and not at the arrival airport unless connecting to a qualifying SkyTeam flight. One guest allowed.
I had no idea that VS wasn't actually on the official list of Skyteam partners. I mean, they seem to function as partners in every possible way. I suspect the club staff probably assume that they are Skyteam and will let you in at MSP based on the above GM benefit.

They are partners. It's a unilateral partnership, VS isn't a member of SkyTeam, which is an industry alliance, and not a Delta program.

I wouldn't suspect that. I mean, OP may get in by virtue of being GM (it's not clear to me if this is allowed or not) but I wouldn't assume skyclub staff don't understand the rules.

Delta finally answered me on Twitter this morning and had this to say:

I have also found the following rules for our Sky Club, "VS Upper Class and VS Flying Club Gold members traveling on a same day VS or DL operated Transatlantic flight between North America and the UK may access Delta Sky Club".
So, it would appear it's the over-water Upper Class ticket and NOT the GM status that gets me access. On Twitter, they weren't sure if the STE+ status would apply.

There is a list!

Delta passengers gets some benefits on VS due Delta's 49% ownership stake.
