Web site and app both bomb out attempting to change flights, and calling in gets as far as "after your call is finished please remain on the line for a one question survey" then a ring to transfer into the hold queue then disconnect/fast busy

EDIT: Going to try Twitter...

EDIT #2 : remembered advice from previous threads about trying SINRES. Only 4 cents/minute over Google Fi

Going to be a mess for flights, and also for the call center.

Delta usually sends an email for weather waivers. No sign of email even though I'll be traveling to ewr on the 5th.

Delta is going to royally mess up again. If you can't handle southeast winter weather then you have failed. How long before the BOD removes Bastian? How many more screw ups will they tolerate? The FAA needs to fine Delta until their their next quarterly financial statement is covered in red.

UA and AA have waivers up too FWIW.

But any knee-jerk excuse I guess...

I am flying on a red eye tonight to JFK and then supposed to be onward to CHS in the morning. Delta sent me texts earlier, and I was able to get assistance with my itinerary pretty easily. I have actually opted to take my chances with my original flights, but we will see if things end up actually operating as planned tomorrow. The problem shouldn't be at the hubs, but at some of the east coast outstations where they don't see that kind of weather often.

I paid the difference in fares to change my flight from Thursday 1/4 to Sunday 1/7. Is this right? I notice the B6 and UA waivers include waiving fare difference in addition to the change fees but the DL (and AA) notices are less clear about that.

Changed my flight as well but I did not pay a fare difference.

Assuming they dont answer my DM on Twitter, what should I do? Sit on the 800 number and argue it again? The first time, I cited the waiver text and said it implied fare differences were only charged if travel extended beyond 1/8.

" When rescheduled travel occurs beyond January 8, 2018, the change fee will be waived. However, a difference in fare may apply. "

If your city was covered during the travel period and you are flying before the rescheduled travel must be completed by date, then no - unless you significantly changed your start or end city.

Thats not gonna happen... I suggest changing to the 5th or later. Very unlikely that BOS will have any arriving flights Thurs afternoon, with heavy snow bands and 50mph+ gusts.
