We have a large employer with many frequent travelers (Epic Systems) and I didn't know if maybe they had a project at Duke or something and DL spun up some express flights especially for them. Anyone ever see that?

They do (or at least did) have a major project at Duke (I have a few friends who worked on it) but I believe these were actually one-time flights for the annual Epic conference in Madison that are added every year. UA added direct flights as well.

3/17: 1/3 on the last leg for RNO-SLC-ATL-MIA. 5/20 for 2018 so far as a GM.

Last night was the first time I've ever seen first class seats go out empty on a flight from ATL.

DTW-SFO (DL 303) on 3/16...the entire upgrade list (consisting of 3 SPG elites) was cleared, and the last remaining seat went to a non-rev.

I am surprised you guys are getting upgrades.

After becoming PM six month ago, I had zero domestic upgrades (a couple of INTL op-ups we're nice though). I fly mostly SEA-JFK or SEA-ATL-Europe. On both SEA-JFK and SEA-ATL I am usually 15/30 on upgrade list. It was never even close to clearing.

Because others' routes are not as elite heavy as some business heavy/hub-to-hub routes that you take, likely on business days, when PMs and below have almost zero chance of clearing.

You should be happy for the op ups as these would not exist with GM or lower status. You also seem to game or overanalyze international op ups, to a point where DL may think you are trying to game them into something free too often. Watch out for karma.

845 PBI-ATL on an M fare 7 of 37 for 0 seats s (no one upgraded)

5521 ATL-XNA on on an M fare 5 of 19 for 3 seats. The 3 have already been upgraded
.
4/10 (40%) as a diamond on eligible fares in 2018. First time in two years not upgraded on an ATL-XNA flight and vice versa.
God bless Delta and their FCM as I have bought a lot of GAP fares this year and approved by the boss.

Flying ATL-FLL the other day. I was #3 for one unclaimed seat. Ten min. before departure, the situation was still the same. So, I asked the agent if first had boarded full. She never said yes or no but, after a few minutes of typing/looking at a printout, I got the upgrade!

Tuesday mid-afternoon ORD-LGA connecting to 5pm LGA-DCA. Gold, no reserve.

ORD-LGA: Would have been 2nd for 3 on a 175 but they swapped in a 170 so I was 2nd for 0. Then two folks jumped on the 11:30 instead, and I was 2nd for 2. Entire flight was only booked to 32.
LGA-DCA: Was originally 8th of 12 for 1. A 75 minute delay due to inbound aircraft and everybody else jumped to the 6pm flight instead. I wasn't in a hurry and was rewarded with 2nd of 3 for 6.

As a Gold, I'm really enjoying LGA as a transfer point on the 175/170/CR9. I can almost always clear into W day of departure, and have a decent shot at F if I'm patient. And the C29-C42 finger is compact for connections. Of course there's the chance of IRROPS messing everything up, so I have to be careful that I don't have anything urgent at my destination.

SDQ-JFK: Upgraded at the PM Window

JFK-DCA: Ended 1 / 22 for 0 seats

Traveling with Companion (Gold)
DCA-ATL: Ended 2 and 3 / 25 for 0 seats

ATL-FLL: Upgraded at the gate

FLL-ATL: #3 and #4 for 3 seats. Decided to not split, so #5 enjoyed a short ride in 1D, who had already boarded but the GA was nice enough to bring his a new BP right before closing the door.

ATL-BOG: Interesting situation, we were #2 and #3 for 3 seats. I kept monitoring the list on my phone and suddenly our names disappeared, and #1 , #4 , and #5 got upgraded. I went to the Skyclub and the agent sent me to the gate. At the gate, they downgraded #4 an #5 and gave us the seats. Nobody had an explanation about what happened.
