MQD Question
Ok, so I'm getting down to the wire and need about $1200 to hit DM for 2018. I'm trying to figure out if I get more MQD's for my money going with AF or KLM, or any other partners, compared to what I get from DL, and if so how can I calculate how many MQD's I get from the milage based rate? Should I just go to the DL website and see how many miles they estimate the flight is, and then cross reference that with the fare/percentage chart on the DL website?
Basically I'm just trying to make sure I do this right before the end of the year. Thanks in advance! |
It's possible to do better on AF/KL, but usually it's on the discount J and premium economy fares which earn 25% to 30% miles as MQD's, Discount coach fares only earn 5% miles MQD's, and you typically only do marginally better on those. However, it's much too late in the year to expect to find any such fares and the discout J and Premium Economy fares generally start above $1200 anyway.

You might try VS too. Where are you based?

AM has JFK-MEX for $1182 in business on 12/30 - 12/31 which would earn slightly over 1200 MQD's. You'd need to spend about $1335 on DL to generate 1200 MQD's on DL.
