Airbus A332/3/9
Airbus A350-900 (replace 747 and 777)

There will be no 767 replacement. Have fun connecting in AMS and CDG for any secondary TATL markets.
737-900's are new and will be around 20 more years. I think everything else you say is basically correct.

I understand they only converted an existing order to 737 MAX, so not really new orders. On the other hand they placed an order for 45 A350, increasing the original order of 35. That was
also an older order ( for the 35 ) but completely unnecessary as it now requires training, new crew base and new maintenance bases for asks that could be easily be accomplished with
Boeing equipment, available right now and in the future. So why does AB catch all these orders?

Neither Delta or anyone else is complaining about open skies. They just want all airlines to comply with the terms of the open skies agreement.

Listen to yourself. Aside from the A350 order from before the merger there have been no Airbus orders at UA. Meanwhile they have ordered the 737, 777, and 787.

i wish that was true, but it's not.

this order is great news for connecticut's economy thanks to pratt/UTC and all of the ancillary manufacturing businesses in the region that supply them.

Are we neglecting DL's love for the used/pre-owned market here?
Will used 772, 332's, etc...open up?

This is all speculation at this point, DL has not released anything and doesn't comment on industry speculation.

Will they have the same garbage overhead bins as the current fleet of A321, or will they get new bins that actually allow bags to go on their side?

US Carrier = sad loss of revenue to USA, Boeing, and USA jobs and commerce.

Could Delta not have forced Boeing to raise their bar, and could Boeing not have obliged?

A shameful loss of USA jobs, thanks Delta!

Maybe that @#$%^&* in the White House will attempt to salvage this.

?? Has Delta actually confirmed what seat they will/would put in the planes? A wider airframe does not guarantee a wider seat. DL can still put 15" width seats in the plane and create a really big aisle if they wanted to. (Not saying they would).

Sure we can just ignore the fact that these will be assembled in Alabama like the other A321s

I think it's pretty obvious they'll have wider seats just like virtually every other carrier that has A320's and 737's... and just like their current A321's. Assuming otherwise is silly.

NWA and DL had the smaller seats until just recently when the Airbus fleet was refurbished. Some people here looked really foolish after they had claimed for years the seats were so much better. It's all in your head.
